I had a wonderful time at the First ever Wasatch WinterFeis hosted by our very own Shelley School of Irish Dance held in Kearns, Utah last weekend. I went to many feiseanna last year, but it’s just so much funner when you have a large amount of students from your own school competing at the same feis.

The funnest part about it however was wearing our costumes which included matching boxers with hearts, headbands with hearts popping off the top and pink poodle socks. We looked so silly! It was such a blast. All of the other competitors had fantastic costumes as well. It was my favorite event at the Feis.

I competed in Open Championships again and ranked 2nd in my set dance and 4th overall. So I walked away quite happy. The venue was ideal, most especially for Championships. A very large high school auditorium with a massive raised up stage and beautiful lighting.

I helped count in beginners for all their light shoe dances and during my free time took some great photographs of dancers competing on the large stage. It was a great day and I enjoyed every minute. I’m definitely looking forward to another great Wasatch WinterFeis next year.
