Arguably one of the most famous writers of all time Yeats immortalized the beauty of Sligo in his poems and plays.

Drawing on the county’s deep-rooted traditions and mythology Yeats brought to life the landscape that he described as “The Land of Heart’s Desire”.

2009 marked the 70th anniversary of Yeats’ death. Travel with us as we delve into the mystery and beauty of these inspirational landmarks as seen through Yeats’ eyes.
