Living The Life On Shrewsbury Road

14 August 2009 No Comment by Rebecca @ Diddlyi

bridgeShrewsbury Road is located in the Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge and is the most expensive street to own a home in all of Ireland. In fact in 2008, Shrewsbury Road was ranked as the world’s sixth-most expensive place to buy a home with the average price of a property then costing over €20 million! Shrewsbury didn’t make the list this year due to Ireland’s economic downturn but that doesn’t mean that the area is any less desirable even if the prices of homes dropped.

The area is attractive with it’s prime location to the city center, its pristine tree lined streets and parks, gorgeous Victorian and Edwardian style mansions. Also, those who live there have many of Dublin’s embassies and diplomatic residences as neighbors. To top it all off, Ailesbury Road (also in Ballsbridge) along with Shrewsbury Road make up the blue (most expensive) real estate in the Dublin edition of Monopoly. Being on the Monopoly game board is a big deal, right?

You’re in luck if you’re in the market for a mansion because a property on Shrewsbury Road is for sale right now for cool €14 million. This property includes seven bedrooms, a pool, a half an acre of garden and home cinema. (Click here to check out the digs.) And if you’re looking for something a bit larger, the College of Pharmacy right behind this Shrewsbury property is on sale for €25 million. Decisions … decisions …
