How did you first become interested in Irish dancing?
My dad wanted me to do Irish Dancing because we are Irish. As soon as I started it, I loved it.
How long have you been dancing?
I have been dancing for about six and a half years.
Where did you learn your first steps?
I learned my first steps at our studio.
How is Irish dancing viewed where you live? Was it difficult to find a dance school or dance group?
In [my state], Irish Dancing is viewed as a unique genre of dance. It actually wasn’t that hard to find a dance school.
Do your friends/family understand why you Irish Dance?
My family and friends understand why I Irish Dance because they know it is something that I cannot live with without.
Do you have any particular things you’ve achieved through dance you’d like to share with Diddlyi?
I have made new friends and have accomplished some goals.
What’s the most important thing you have learned from dancing? Or do you have anything you want to say to other dancers?
The most important thing is to try your best and be proud of what you do.
What’s your favorite dance show and/or performer and why? Or is there any performer (even non dancing related) you admire?
I like Riverdance because it is a really good show and I love the soundtrack for the performance. There are two girl in my Irish Dance class that I look up to… they are AMAZING dancers.
What’s the greatest thing about your dance school/dance group?
The best thing about our school is that we are always happy and we have a secret handshake!
Do you have any fun/interesting/unusual stories about something that happened to you while dancing?
This happens most of the time, but this is really cool: When I dance sometimes, the judges just stare at me and it looks like they hypnotized.
Can you give us a little background about you (non dancing related)?
I love Lacrosse and Soccer, so I am obviously a very active person.
Is there anything else you’d like say/highlight or anyone you would like to thank?
I would like to thank my dance teachers for supporting me and teaching me everything.
